2017 Summer Sunshine Grants

The United Way of Fayette County Board of Directors is pleased to announce its approval of funds for grants to be awarded to organizations providing health and human services in Fayette County. Awards will be announced during the summer of 2017. UWFC is now accepting applications.

The First Step!
Applicants begin by contacting the UWFC via either email or phone. After a brief consultation, applicants will be assisted in starting the written application process.

Who is eligible to receive a Summer Sunshine Grant?
To be eligible for a grant, an organization must:

  • be tax-exempt, and
  • have provided health and human services for over 50% of its clients in Fayette County continuously during the last two (2) years.

Both public and private organizations are eligible.

What will be funded?
The Summer Sunshine Grants are designated for organizations providing health and human services in Fayette County, including basic needs, education, and income assistance. Grants involving one-time or periodic disbursement are awarded to organizations that improve the lives of people in our community.

Important Dates

  • June 2, 2017: Date on or before which applicants must take The First Step!
  • June 16, 2017: Written grant applications due.
  • June 30, 2017: Date on or before which grant recipients will be notified.
