Thanks to the dedication of its generous donors, volunteer board and staff, United Way of Fayette County is pleased to offer not one but two cycles of grant awards in 2016. This winter, for the second straight year, UWFC will offer its Season of Giving Grants.

In the summer of 2016, for the first time, UWFC awarded its Summer Sunshine Grants, including over $20,000 in awards to Fayette County organizations. SSG Grants were awarded to:

Healthworks Fitness & Wellness Center, a division of Fayette Regional Health System, to replace old and worn exercise equipment used by our community's senior citizens.

Whitewater Valley Arts Association to ensure compliance with fire and safety codes at its new facility in downtown Connersville.

Community Sharing Foundation in support of CFS' ongoing mission to provide food to Fayette County households in need.

Fayette Central Elementary School to assist in creating a 21st-century learning lab where students write reports on laptop computers, create Power-point presentations for school projects, and prepare for state assessments.

The Ha-Ven, an organization that provides social activities for Fayette County high-schoolers in a safe, nurturing and drug-free environment, to fund its summer events at the Fayette County Aquatic Center and Free Fair.

Hope Center for "I Decide for Me," a six-year program to empower middle- and high-school students in Fayette County to make healthy lifestyle choices conducive to living a life of integrity.

House of Ruth where formerly incarcerated women who have suffered in the past from drug dependency reside and recover in a supervised environment.
